Dog Consult
£495.00
A comprehensive remote veterinary behaviour consultation supporting dogs and their families across the UK.
This service is centred on clinical assessment and collaborative planning. Together, we work to understand the emotional drivers, motivations, environmental influences and potential medical factors contributing to your dog’s behaviour. From this, we develop a structured, practical plan tailored to your individual dog and household.
Remote consultations provide accessible, UK-wide clinical support without the stress of travel, allowing owners to engage fully in the process.
Common concerns include:
- Aggression or threats towards unfamiliar people (excluding veterinary contexts)
- Aggression or threats in veterinary settings
- Aggression or threats towards familiar people
- Aggression or threats towards unfamiliar dogs
- Owner-absent related problems
- Apparent fearful or phobic behaviour (non-aggressive)
- Problems related to training, attention-seeking, or apparent excessive arousal
- Pre-Consultation Assessment: You will complete a detailed behavioural and lifestyle questionnaire covering your dog’s history, environment, daily routine, social relationships, and medical background. Standardised temperament and behavioural assessment scales may also be used to provide additional insight into your dog’s emotional profile. This allows thorough case preparation before we meet.
- Clinical Consultation (Remote, UK-Wide): A 2-hour structured remote consultation focused on developing a clear understanding of your dog’s behaviour.
- Explore the context and pattern of behaviours
- Identify likely emotional drivers and motivations
- Consider medical and welfare influences
- Assess environmental and social factors within the household
Where appropriate, liaison with your primary care veterinary surgeon may be recommended to ensure medical factors are fully considered.
Behavioural Formulation & Written Report:
Following the consultation, you will receive a formal clinical report outlining:
- A structured behavioural analysis outlining the emotional drivers, environmental influences, and maintaining factors contributing to the behaviour
- Practical, evidence-based recommendations
- A tailored behaviour modification plan designed to improve welfare and long-term outcomes
Two structured follow-up consultations are included at 2 weeks and 4 weeks after the initial assessment. These sessions allow us to review progress, refine recommendations, and provide continued clinical guidance as changes are implemented.
Where appropriate and safe to do so, an in-person visit can be arranged to assess behaviours occurring in specific contexts, such as on walks or in other real-world environments.
If additional practical support is required, collaboration with suitable, welfare-focused trainers or behaviour professionals can be arranged to ensure consistent and appropriate implementation of the plan.
